Depo-Provera
Depo-Provera can be an injection (a go) that protects against maternity for three months (up to 15 days).
How can it work?
The injection has a progestin (a progesterone that is synthetic called medroxyprogesterone acetate. Depo-Provera doesn’t contain estrogen. It stops maternity by:
Preventing ovulation (the production of eggs through the ovary)
Thickening cervical mucus which stops semen from entering the womb
Changing the liner regarding the womb, which makes it more unlikely for implantation (or not as likely for pregnancy) to happen
